So is Funi just giving away their stuff to air? Might as well rename the whole block Funami. :S
I guess that was the minor MomoCon announcement Toonami was talking about. I’m happy to hear about fresh episodes. I hope they start with Buu honestly.
Inside job ?
I think it’s to do with Funimation snagging some of the more popular old AS/Toonami titles and using them to get newer titles on .
DBZ Kai? Really?
Isn’t DBZ still a bit too juvenile for the block that shows Black Lagoon? Especially Buu. Buu is almost as kid-oriented as Barney and Friends.
INTRUDER 2 Teaser
That gave me chills. Buckle up everyone.

Guess who’s coming back? SPACE DANDY returns to Toonami for a second season with ALL NEW, WORLD PREMIERE episodes, starting Saturday July 5th at 12:30am! Be there, baby!

Wow I’m surprised they’re sticking with 12:30. I guess they figured it’s better not to mess with AoT’s ratings dominance right now.
During the commercial break on tonight’s [July 19] Bleach broadcast, Tom and Sara were doing a Q&A preview by reading a few submissions and shed some light on some things.
1.) Dragonball Z Kai will air uncut. Further details to come soon.
2.) Gurren Lagann has been officially announced, set to premiere August 16 at 2:00 A.M.
3.) Don’t expect Gundam Wing anytime soon.
I’m hoping that they’ve redubbed Gurren Lagaan, or that they’ve decided to show it subbed.
Considering it’s more than likely coming from AoA, I highly doubt it’s been re-dubbed.

Regretfully I must concur. I know that I’m not much of a Bang/Zoom fan but I don’t recall the dub of GL getting anything but disdain from the fandom and as such I’m a bit concerned about it being televised again.
Though this does remind me that I still haven’t checked off hearing the 2 alternate dubs for Gurren Lagaan on my fandom to-do list. Somewhere out there is the ADV dub of it…
Whaaaat… :S
GL, really…pass.
Toonami, you can do better.

August 02, 2014 8:01pm CDT
Toonami has the introduction of Gurren Lagann coming up on August 16th. Beyond that, and the upcoming return of Intruder, co-creator Jason DeMarco is hinting on more developments for the block.

I guess the question now isn’t “Is Toonami a failed experiment” but instead “what should Toonami be going forward.”
— LICH KING DEMARCO (@Clarknova1) August 2, 2014
And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you all have opinions about that, and many of them differ! Ha!

Intruder2 is gonna change a lot of things at #Toonami, but it’s a ways off, so there’s no better time to get your feedback.

That video got my hopes up that CN would bring back Moltar.
The first suggestion though ought to be that, in moving forward, unless they’ve redubbed GL they should skip airing it. I don’t quite see why they’d want to show a zany mecha show that is something of a spoof of giant robot shows at this juncture anyhow.
Toonami a failed x.p.?
I’d say yeah…I say the ratings speak for themselves.
But that’s just me.
WDIK :S

They must have been doing alright in 1998 when that video was made though. The modern version of Toonami, well, I’d have to agree. Though if we compared the ratings of modern Toonami to just the ratings of the vintage Toonami Midnight Run then I wonder what the result would look like.
…are they saying “Ream Supreme” in that video?
And they kill off NAruto yet again. I don’t recall ever seeing the Jiraya Arc at all on TV where Naruto learns the Rasengan. I know there is a LOT of filler episodes in that first 210, but you kind of need parts of it and at least the Chunin Exams should finish since they already entered the Forest of Death.
This is what happens when they wait too long to show something, and now Shippuden is about 5 years behind because Disney had it and US audiences are either way behind or just ignoring AS airings.
It is good SNK/AoT is airing so quick, but something like Naruto needs a marathon to get through a bunch to catch up to episode 373 since episode 33 is just airing tonight. 1 episode a week for the remaining 340 episodes to catch up? 7 years at best and the show will be long over and forgotten by then.
