Hellsing Announcement - Apology
So…when we started out we were told we were getting all 10 Hellsing Ultimates. And it turns out we aren’t. Sorry. We encourage you to finish the story where you can find it. We will always try to do our best, but sometimes that isn’t good enough. Enjoy it while it’s on.

EDIT: I’m very pleased about Inuyasha: The Final Act is coming to Toonami. Thank you VIZ for playing nice.
Toonami isn’t airing all 10 eps of hsu?

Toonami isn’t airing all 10 eps of hsu?
According to that posted schedule, they’re stopping at 8.
Inuyasha is only 10 years late since the series ended in 2003…But does this mean they will be airing all 167 episode leading up to the final battle with Nuraku? @.@

Q. Did Hellsing 9 & 10 get pulled away because Funimation is releasing the blurays and didn’t want to share them?
A. I’m honestly not sure of exactly why, but it wasn’t anything to do with that, I know that much.
Toonami Faithful Podcast: Here’s Johnny! Featuring Johnny Yong Bosch
Yep, we’ve got Johnny Yong Bosch on the show. We talk Power Rangers, Trigun, Eureka 7 and of course Bleach and Space Dandy.
Before that, we recap the 2nd to last premiere episodes of Attack on Titan and Bleach and the sixth episode of Hellsing Ultimate in record time. During Attack on Titan Eren has trouble performing while everyone else tries to deal with Annie transforming into a titan. Then on Bleach, Ginjo tries to drop a psychological bomb on Ichigo but Ichigo doesn’t care about the sudden reveal. Finally Seras and the Wild Geese protect the home base on Hellsing Ultimate.
We also have a boat load of news that we will likely discuss in greater length in our next episode and a sizable amount of listener mail.

So, if they’re replacing a one hour show with a 30 minute show, what are they going to put in the 2:30am slot I wonder…
if Sentai can’t get on Toonami, maybe the can try getting on fellow Texan Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey network: grindhouse, action /exploitation style shows a plenty.

Dish Customers Lose Access to Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, More
posted on 2014-11-01 23:57 EDT
Dish dispute removes eight Turner Broadcasting networks from lineup
Dish Network removed Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and six other Turner Broadcasting networks from its lineup last week because of failed contract negotiations between the two companies.
Turner and Dish could not come to an agreement in the dispute over contract renewal, and both blame the other for consumers losing access to the channels.
“Turner has worked diligently for months to come to a fair agreement including multiple extensions and compromises, and it’s unfortunate that Dish is once again operating in a disruptive manner that takes away networks and programming from their customers,” Turner Broadcasting said in a statement.
Other Turner networks removed from Dish include Boomerang, CNN, CNN en Español, HLN, truTV and Turner Classic Movies, while TBS and TNT remain on the lineup. (Turner Broadcasting reports Cartoon Network and Adult Swim as sister networks that share the same channel.)
Jason DeMarco of Cartoon Network/Toonami had an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit recently (Oct 28). Some highlights.
Q. Watanabe-san recently stated at MCM that to make a Space Dandy movie happen they need sponsors. Would [adultswim] be interested in doing that?
A. Sure!
Q. I watched Hunter x Hunter, I can honestly say it felt like a show that I would have watched on Toonami back in the day. Dub pending, do you think the show is something you’d consider? Also, what are the odds of another series airing with a US dub before Japan?
A. Odds of another series airing with a US dub before Japan are small! And as for Hunter X Hunter… lemme know when it’s dubbed!
Q. Are there going to be any Miyazki movies in December or where they too expensive for your budget?
A. They are WAY out of our budget.
Q. What show you keep getting requests to air on Toonami, but you don’t want to see on Toonami?
A. Hm I’d say Yu-Gi-Oh! is one.
Q. What do you think about Psycho-Pass being added to the line-up?
A. I like Pyscho-Pass, of course I can’t say whether or not something will be added to the block though. You’ll have to wait and see!
Q. Other than aniplex and funimation, are there any other companies you get airing rights from?
A. Viz. And hopefully more soon.
Q. I heard that you guys will be re-airing some movies from last year’s month of December. Do you mind me asking which of them or will we have to wait on that?
A. That’s true, but you’ll have to wait to find out.
Q. What are some of the challenges running a block like Toonami that most people wouldn’t be aware of?
A. Well it seems like many, many people are not aware of the myriad legal challenges involved in licensing shows and airing them in the US, and even small things like opens/closes/eyecatches can be difficult to get worked out when receiving episodes. Working across language and geographical boundaries is hard, especially when dealing with something as complex as television and serialized storytelling.
Q. If a show has an English dub but no US rights holder has the TV rights to lend out, can you make deals directly with a Japanese producer to obtain the TV rights or do you absolutely need a US distributor as a middle man?
A. You almost always need the US distributor.
Q. I have a few questions tonight!
- According to the One Piece Wikia, One Piece stops having Ending Songs after episode 278 (Which airs Nov. 8th). So I was wondering how it will affect the editing of the openings after that point? Will they stay at 30 seconds, or will they get longer?
- Have we gotten the Mystery show? If we have, what was it?
- Why is Attack on Titan rerunning at 11:30 instead of DBZKai taking the slot with AoT later in the block?
A. Hey! Answers: - OPs will likely stay at :30.
- I dunno what this refers to!
- Because programing thinks AoT will do better in that slot… we will see!
Q. What plays more of a role in a show being “right” for Toonami: mainstream appeal or quality and action quotient?
A. 1. We like it
2. It has enough action
3. It has broad enough appeal to risk putting in front of a million or so people every week.
Q. Are there any plans in the works to add a show or two from Sentai Filmworks to the block in 2015? Wouldn’t mind seeing Log Horizon or Gatchaman CROWDS drop in for a run personally.
A. We’re open to that!
**Q.**It seems that in the past few years, Toonami and Adult Swim in general have become more lenient with what content is allowed to be aired. TV-MA-V shows (ie. programs with graphic violence) have become more and more commonplace and now, for the first time, AS/Toonami has been airing programs with more graphic language than ever before (ie. shit) and giving programs a TV-MA-L rating. Is there specific examples of content that Standards and Practices will not allow (aside from the obvious, eg. hardcore pornography)? Will we ever see programs on Toonami with a TV-MA-S subrating, or is most sexual content still a taboo matter for Turner S&P?
A. I mean, I doubt you’ll see that on American TV… Heavily sexualized content in general. And on Toonami in specific. Not being sarcastic, sorry if I wasn’t clear!
Q. Is it possible to rerun Bleach or are you going to let it ride into the sunset?
A. Bleach will likely rerun for some period of time.
Q. Would you guys consider picking up more shows that have 10 episodes or was Hellsing Ultimate a special case?
A. I hope that Hellsing does NOT become a special case, I’d like to do that a bit more. That said, we don’t plan to move from the model of longer shows taking up most of the block.
Q. Will we continue to see dark shows like Hellsing and black lagoon in the future?
A. I certainly hope so.
Q. Just wondering will be getting another Intruder 2 trailer and or teaser?
A. Most definitely.
Q. this year?
A. definitely NOT
Q. Sooooooooooo,Hellsing. Yeaaaah. What’s going on with that? Is there any chance we might possibly see the final 2 episodes on Toonami in the (hopefully near) future?
A. I very much hope to bring Hellsing 9/10 to Toonami one day soon, as we SAID we would.
Q. Is FLCL coming back soon?
A. No.
Q. With the “Rewrite the rulebook” thing you guys have been doing on Tumblr, have you seen any sort of direction that is clearly desired by fans, or are you still trying to determine that?
A. The most clear note we got from fans was to see more ADULT (read: dark) content. Hellsing was our first response to that.
Q. It’s been rumored that you guys got Gurren Lagann because Kill La Kill had too much nudity for S&P to clear. Is that true?
A. Nope.
Q. Hey, just wondering, what Western animated series does Toonami have access to?
A. Right now? very few, sadly.
Q. One thing that has been missing since Toonami’s revival has been a show of the magical girl variety. Is there any chance we could see such a series in the future?
A. Anything is possible!
Q. For Toonami movies, does the age rule you have in place for shows apply, or does it get a little more leeway (like how you aired Akira last year)?
A. Honestly, it’s not a hard and fast rule. Look at DBZ- older shows can make it into the block, but they have to be relevant in a BIG way to a current audience, right? That’s a very short list.
Q. Do you have any issues with shorter series that are normal 22-minute lengths? It seems like most of your pickups have been shows that at least have 20 episodes. Is it in your financial interest to stick to longer-running series or is it just a matter of what is offered/what you want?
A. It is definitely easier financially to license “longer” shows. Also, we have seen that the more settled our schedule is on Toonami, the more people have time to develop habit watching. Our ratings are almost always better when we are stable… sadly we haven’t been as stable lately as we would like, in terms of the lineup!
Q. Will Big O season 2 likely get another run when finished?
A. Likely, yes.
Q. Are you allowed to actually list what shows Toonami currently has access to or is that considered a trade secret?
A. I am not allowed to list that, sorry.
Q. I try to watch the shows live or record them but can’t always do that. Is there a Toonami app planned for the XBox One? I’d love to watch shows on my TV via Xbox One rather than in my browser on a small monitor.
A. I wish! There is of course a WATCH ADULT SWIM APP you can use to stream the network, but I have no idea if plans are underway to make a version of the app for Xbox Live…
Q. Will you cut the Opening to Inuyasha TFA?
A. It will run with the full open on the night of the premiere and have a shortened open thereafter.
Q. Are reruns of newer shows something you guys are looking into or is it not really a priority?
A. We will have no choice but to have some reruns into the new year.
Q. Are we in for another original series like IGPX? Is it anywhere in Toonami/Cartoon Network’s plans to create another new anime?
A. Not at present, no.
Q. Will Toonami air shows with yaoi or yuri content if it has enough action in it?
A. Unlikely.
Q. One more question ish more like a suggestion. So Myself and few others wrote in about TOM and sara. Basically we said that TOM and Sara seem to corny , its gotten better. Man those intros are still bad, any chance we can just get a silent intro? I know you like to have that little convo but cant you just do that during a break? Idk , i feel like the atmosphere is constantly being broken with cheesy lines , breaking the 4th wall etc , but thanks! Oh btw Shippuden promo? haha
A. Hm I dunno, we have tried to make those opens interesting and give the casual viewer an idea of what to expect for the night, and they seem to work in that regard. Long gone are the days where we had $$ for a minute long intro, although I would love for us to be able to do that again! As far as “breaking the 4th wall” I think that’s a pretty blurry area when it comes to TOM, who has always maintained he’s a TV host… even though he has a backstory and has gone on adventures. It’s messy. We’re not likely to change from the current open style for a while, but after Intruder… a lot may change! And yeah you’re right, we owe Shippuden fans a promo. We’ll get to it!

Series will premiere on Adult Swim’s block on November 8
The staff of Adult Swim’s Toonami block posted a second Dragon Ball Z Kai ad teasing the show’s upcoming network premiere. The ad features the songs “Boy Wonder” by Near Future and “Mega Church (Perc Mix)” by Ikonika.
Toonami will replace Bleach with Dragon Ball Z Kai on November 8.
Dragon Ball Z Kai (known as just Dragon Ball Kai in Japan) condenses the 1989-1996 Dragon Ball Z anime series to more closely follow Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball manga. The series features digital high-definition remastering, a re-recorded soundtrack, and select scenes updated with new effects or re-animated footage. The 2009-2011 run of Dragon Ball Z Kai covered from the Saiyan Saga to the Android Cell Saga.
The “new age of Kai” began on April 6 in Japan, and it is covering the Majin Buu Saga arc with more episodes.

TURNER BROADCASTING AND DISH NETWORK AGREE TO EXTENSION
November 21, 2014
Turner Broadcasting and DISH Network announced today that they have mutually decided to restore service of CNN, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, truTV, TCM, HLN, CNN en Espanol and Boomerang, and extend the carriage of TBS and TNT. Dish and Turner will not have any further comment.
Glad to hear it. Now I can watch those channels, and CBS, with no fear of nagging banner ads overlaid on my shows that encourage me to nag DISH to keep the channels, which I had to endure despite not being a DISH customer.
Despite the obstacles, Turner has to be breathing a sigh of relief here in the end. Hopefully now the ratings can begin to make a full recovery. So much damage was done.
