Don’t let the trailer fool you, arguably the best anime movie made - in my book a masterpiece without peer at an A+ rating for many years now, and still remains my favorite, then and now. One of the few anime movies (I prefer TV series) with such powerful emotional impact, that just makes you feel great… and makes you feel great to watch a production like this. Films like this always renew why anime is such an important part of my life.
You know where I stand on this one. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best Studio Ghibli title period! I absolutely love this movie! I think it’s because I can relate to the main character so easily.
Studio Ghibli…You know how I feel about them lol. But A+ from you? Worth looking into at least, but I’d prob hate it hehe. Maybe I’ll rent it someday down the road.
It’s nothing like Ghibli stuff, except some mystical moments here and there. This is by Kondo - This film is a great example why directors have a great impact on shows/movies.
At the core, it’s a superior slice of life/romance story.
Yes, the tone and story are nothing like typical Ghibli films. Whisper of The Heart is an entirely different and beautiful beast. It’s all about the journey of a young girl discovering her passion for writing, and the relationship that she develops with a young boy on the way. It’s simply amazing!
I would say it is a little bit different from the standard Gib-fare.
@Prede, it has a main character girl who is not super perfect. In fact she is quite normal.
It also doe s not have the proto-typical environmental story. It has an odd pace. yeah, you should check it. I am not saying your going to change your mind and become a a Gib-fan. But I am not much of one, and I liked it.
I just rented this movie. Definitely one of the warmest movies I’ve ever seen. Loved the characters, as well as the story. My favorite part of the movie:
