Now youāre making me feel bad because I wasnāt disturbed by the show
I wasnāt disturbed by the show, but I am fairly disappointed. The show isnāt bad, but itās definitely not deserving of all the hype it has received. Iām also disappointed by the dub, which also isnāt terrible, but isnāt particularly great either. I was hoping Funi would have brought their A game, but I guess not. I just hope it improves as it goes along.

Episodes 14-25 to get home video release on September 23
Funimation went to extraordinary lengths with the dub of this one and that leads me to believe that they brought their A game but unfortunately their crack players scored on their own goal.
I would say that Titanās dub is poor as it is painfully cheesy and disjointed. Since Funimation brought in a guy from CA who is known for just that in dubs, I have to believe that this was intentional. The acting in this dub seems like it was going for a Starship Troopers tongue-in-cheek (which I enjoyed) thing but completely missed the mark.
If only Titan had taken itself seriously

Season 2 of Summer 2013 hit confirmed
While this might explain a great deal, I wonder just how much influence Pacific Rim had as it came out well after Titan started.
Having now experienced the dub of JoJoās Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders and its deliberate tongue-in-cheek, melodramatic technique, I believe that I know what McFarland and Funimation were shooting for with the Titan dub.

Episodes 14-25 of the anime will ship in multiple editions on September 23
Brett Weaver returns? Hopefully heāll stick around and maybe work his way over to a Sentai show (or a better Funimation show) someday.
I donāt know what has brought the anime legends from yesteryear back into the fold lately but I approve.
What? Brett Weaverās been doing Sentai dubs from the get go: Tears to Tiara, Intrigue, Hakuoki: Shinsegumi, and maybe one or two more. Granted, more would be better but it shows he never left.
And Attack on Titan is a fine show, not the greatest thing since sliced bread but still way better than Arbyās.
I donāt know about that. Iāve been kinda disappointed in Titan, but is probably take an Arbyās turkey club over it.
As you mentioned, Weaver has only been here in a āonce in a blue moonā (like other ADV mainstays). Hopefully his Titan appearance is a sign of more roles to come, that itāll upgrade his dubbing frequency from āRob Mungleā to āJessica Calvelloā
AoT is a fine show if weāre talking fine to mean āokayā or āpassableā. I wouldnāt call it exceptional.
Unfortunately, the dub of Titan is something that I would call exceptional: exceptionally bad. Iād hesitate when making the choice, but if it came down to it then Iād probably take the nasty, boiled roast beef sandwich (they say that they smoke it for 13 hours nowadays butā¦) from Arbyās over watching Titan dubbed.
Holy crap, we actually agree on a dub! Itās not terrible, it just comes across a little lifeless and poorly cast to me.

was posted earlier on their tumblr also. Too bad TAN doesnāt have a tumblr they could put quit things up on to get masses of people to know about it. Then again, many people seemed to not know Toonami even came back in 2012. :pinch:

ShintarÅ Kawakubo predicts mangaās legacy will last decades
āThe serialization is slated to end in three to four years, but Attack on Titan is a work that will be passed down from generation to generation for a decade ā no, five decades.ā
Thatās a bit rich IMO: Iām not even willing to say that FMA or even Eva have achieved such legendary status.
Having gone through some of the Titan manga, if it is going to be a āmanga classicā that will be passed down and revered for the next 50 years then I do hope that theyāll go back and redraw the opening volumes of it as the art in them really does need some help.
The Titan manga running for another 3-4 years will put it at 8-9 years running. With all the filler in the first seasons of the anime, and having experienced the (usually horrid) filler arcs in the major shounen titles, I think thatāll be far too long to tell a fluff-free story.
