Twitter down: website and mobile app crash

posted January 18 / by Andrew Griffin / Independent

I heard about this on the radio this morning and had to laugh a little at all the upset and angry people complaining that Twitter wasn’t working. How did they ever survive?

Similarly like those who own the stock.

A real shame this happened but outages are a normal part of life these days. Gotta stomach them.

Since I don’t use Twitter I’m not in the least upset. :relaxed:

I haven’t used twitter in about 5 years

My twitter use is more on the receiving end. The stuff I do care about (only two accounts, low tweet output at that) I have sent to me via SMS.

Kinda like my Youtube usage, the channels I follow, I follow via RSS.

I’m pretty sure I have an old Circuit City giftcard lying around. If anything were to come of this, I wonder if it’d be honored lol.

For you, it better be.

Up until April of last year there were two Tiger Direct stores here in Orlando, they were originally CompUSA stores and were still well stocked. As I understand the problem with Systemax / Tiger Direct was triggered by illegal actions from executives and not a problem with the physical stores profitability, so this concept might actually work if applied right.

If the new CC takes off, that’ll be a huge celebratory moment, that’s for sure. Best of luck to those involved.

I’ve been having some very annoying microstutter (FPS counter says 60 but visibly not smooth) on borderlands 2 The Pre-Sequel, but not on BL1 or BL2.

I saw reports online of people having issues with having their phones tethered causing microstutter. I didn’t have my phone connected, but I did have a bluetooth dongle (paired actively with nothing).

I unplugged that and now have next to no microstutter. Sometimes the things that shouldn’t have any effect really do.

This might be the reason you need to hit ā€œtechnical crapā€ to bypass cert errors in browsers now. (Firefox is the hardest to do this with BTW)

I always found Firefox to be a nightmare. It never once pleased me.
