You are right Coffee God. It was a bit predicable, but over all a good ending. I also agree with ShawnMerrow that it’s good that Maya will be a part of the younger Fumiaki’s life. His older self did go out in a blaze of glory! This was a good series and I enjoyed it very much.
So this means we can expect a DVD/BD release her in R1-land sometime in the near future; YEA!!! Now the only question is: sub or dub? I’m gonna throw in my two bits and say sub.
This show is from Aniplex and TV Tokyo, so it’s not a matter of if it will come to R1, but when and by who. As for the question of sub or dub, I would say the chances are good for a dub on this one, but you can never tell these days.

I think he’s going on the assumption that it’ll be an Aniplex US release, since they are the ones that put it up on Hulu.
The when? I’m gonna say…October; to coincide with Halloween. That’d be pretty cool.
The who? Aniplex of America since they’re the ones streaming it on Hulu.
The dub, if it gets one? Whoever they got to dub Durarara: Bang Zoom, right?
The beer/liqour I’ll be chugging while watching? MGD/Jack D.
The grub? Sushi and chili.
I had really thought either Funi or Sentai would nab this and I was fairly confident In a dub. I guess it wast meant to be. I didn’t care for what I saw I this show but I may check out more and see what I think.
I’m curious about the fact it’s not only Blu-ray only it’s sub only to. I wonder if whoever NISA gets to do their PS3 Blu-ray replication is cutting them a deal on the Blu-ray Disc replication for their series. Cause every other company keeps saying Sub only Blu-rays are not worth doing.
I didn’t see this before. I am amazed, doubly so in fact. I agreed with the ANN review of this show and I agree with what you posted (well, up until I saw more and got to ep 7, where ANN correctly warned that all hope for the show dies). Shocking.
A Sentai dub of this could have been classic, but I’m not sure it’d be worth the resources. There’s other stuff I would have preferred them to dub had they licensed this…ah, the hypotheticals are just too much here :silly:
The BD art looks pretty lackluster to me. The box says “Occult Academy”, but the art doesn’t seem to emphasize the occult or an academy. I must be the only one who didn’t think of Maya as some sort of ultra-hot anime sex symbol for the ages.
