Color me disappointed, when I saw it in the news feed, I was hoping we were getting a Blu-Ray re-release announcement.

Q. I was looking through the Anime Network, and I noticed a classic show that didn’t have a physical release: RahXephon. Do you have any plans for a DVD/BD release for this series? It’s one of my favorites of the mecha genre, and has gone unnoticed by many.
A. Awesome show, but we have not announced any plans to release this title to home video to date.

It actually has had 2 physical releases, but are now out of Print (ADV did the first Single release, and then a complete collection, Then Section 23 released it as a Complete Collection) needless to say it’s been almost 10 years since it’s been released, and HD masters are available for the show, so a Blu-Ray release is warranted

RahXephon is one of the shows that I bought the ADV singles for back in the day. I would double dip for a Blu-Ray release without batting an eye.

I don’t know if I’ll get it but it was like $100 cheaper on Amazon than CD Japan (It’s Back Ordered). But I went ahead and dropped for the JP version of the RahXephon BD Boxset. Which includes both the Dub and English Subtitles according to CDJapan. I’ll give you all an update when it arrives.
(Using current conversion rates I saved about $130 getting it through Amazon)

Still surprised we’ve not gotten at least another DVD release for this . Last one was what 2009 ? This and You’re Under Arrest season 1 seem to be trapped in a NA no home video void .

Yeah if Sentai does do a BD release before it ships, I’ll probably cancel and get the Sentai / Section 23 release (If it happens)

Finally got a positive update that the item will be shipped soon. Haven’t got the ship notice yet though.
Expected to arrive between Sept 26-29

It has arrived!
Notes: includes the english dub and is english subtitled as well. Original 4:3 aspect ratio (the last DVD release was the 1.33: 1 widescreen version) the movie is 4:3 ratio as well.
Also includes an art book
It also includes the OVA that was bundled with the PS2 game, but it’s not dubbed or subbed

Amazon JP has four copies at about $262 . Might have to finally get off my lazy butt and sell some Joes cause that is a nice looking release .
